Introduction to DCAPA
District of Columbia Academy of Physician Assistants
serves the needs of PAs and PA students who
work or reside in metropolitan Washington, D.C. DCAPAs
Web site serves its members and the public by providing a
forum for services and ideas designed to strengthen and promote
the PA profession throughout the city. DCAPA will strive to
publicize the contributions of PAs to patients, employers,
and policy makers. As the voice and advocate of PAs in D.C.,
DCAPA promotes continuing education for its members, provides
PA employment information to PAs and physicians, and strengthens
the role of PAs by supporting and encouraging membership in
DCAPA.
DCAPA Spends a Night at the Ballpark
On July the first, members of the District of Columbia Academy
of Physician Assistants and their guests attended the Nationals
game against the New York Mets. Seated in right field near the
foul pole, we had a panoramic view of the field and witnessed a
beautiful sunset as the Nats came from behind to defeat the Mets,
2-1 on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Zimmerman in the ninth inning.
The academy intends to have more activities to encourage members
to get to know one another better. Continue to check our
events page for upcoming
events. We have already begun to plan the 2011 CME, "The PA in
Primary Care: A Cherry Blossom Experience", which will be held
between March 31 and April 3 at the Crowne Plaza in Crystal City
during the first week of cherry blossom activities.
